ʻUaʻu

The ʻuaʻu is the endemic and endangered Hawaiian petrel. These nocturnal seabirds nest in burrows above 2,500 feet in volcanic crevices, and lava tubes - Crazy! They are known for traveling long distances, often thousands of miles, to hunt for fish at sea. Their vocalization sounds like their name!
