‘Ā - Booby

Booby alert! ‘Ā aka red-footed boobies are the most common boobies found in Hawai’i. 🤣Most nesting colonies are in protected areas which means their numbers are pretty stable! Only the adults have the bright red feet. Booby comes from the Spanish word ‘bobo’ which means stupid, apparently because they aren’t afraid of humans.
