There are over 5,000 native insect species in Hawaiʻi with many more left to be described. This often unappreciated group of organisms is critical to the various food webs in Hawaiʻiʻs ecosystems. Without these fluttering and crawling friends, our Hawaiʻi pae ʻāina would not be the same!
